Spring Time Nature Art Project
If you’re working from home like I am, and balancing teaching your little ones then you’re going to need all the ideas you can get! This is a fun project that is multi-step so it can fill up your day.
STEP 1: NATURE HIKE
We all know the power of outdoors, sunshine and exercise. Take your family on a nature hike around the neighborhood and collect items that you see. Bring buckets and fill them with flower petals, leaves, acorns, sticks, pinecones, etc. Anything that shows off the amazing textures, colors, and vibrancy of nature!
STEP 2: GLUE IT DOWN
Grab a sheet of paper and glue down all of the items into a nature scape. It can be any way your kids want to interpret the project! They could try and recreate flowers or trees with their items, or simply just glue them down. Have them focus on gluing skills and composition (no matter the age).
STEP 3: COLOR BUGS
Next create some bugs to live in your beautiful environment. I love using my Squirmy Wormy bug books that are filled with coloring pages, drawing tips, and colorful ideas to make your own bugs! Make them bright and colorful and then cut them out.
STEP 4: PULL TOGETHER
Now you can glue the cut out bugs down onto the nature papers and recreate what you see outside! Mount the finished art onto colored construction paper and it will really pop with color! Perfect to brighten up your house and your new art center in your home.
