Fall Leaves Watercolor

Fall Leaves Watercolor

I saw this idea somewhere on the internet the other day, so I adapted a little and we created beautiful fall leaves with watercolors! By using coffee filters, it allows the colors to blend together and spread out easily for beautiful mosaic looks. There is no wrong way to do this one, so it's great for any age.

MATERIALS

  • Coffee filters
  • Watercolors
  • Sharpe marker
  • Scissors
  • String

DIRECTIONS

  1. Draw leaves on the coffee filters with the Sharpie marker. I searched on Google for "cartoon leaves" and was able to find a ton to just copy quick. They don't have to be perfect - just wing it!
  2. Let your little one paint the leaves with different colors and practice color mixing. Add extra water and watch the colors bleed together.
  3. Let dry all the way before cutting out the leaves.
  4. String them up and hang by the window!
